18 Sep Our Big News!
We are very excited to be able to officially announce that we have now found premises in central Edinburgh! We cannot wait to open and hope to be up and running before Christmas!
Since starting our Pop Ups back in June we have been scouting out the best full time premise to suit ours and your needs. We knew it was important we were centrally located so that anyone travelling in for a day trip could easily access us and tired shoppers wouldn’t have to go far for a therapeutic rest. We also knew we needed to have enough distance between our front door and the road that our premise was safe for our doggy hosts. And, of course, we needed to be nice and close to a park for lunch time walkies.
All this ended up making quite a list of requirements and we’ve taken our time finding what we feel is the best location for Scotland’s first Dog Cafe! We are very proud to announce that we will be opening on Fredrick Street, one turn off Edinburgh’s main shopping street Princes Street.
As you can see this location comes with a view of Edinburgh Castle, making that cute selfie all the more perfect. Our girls have checked it out themselves and are very pleased with how close Princes Street Gardens are – it literally takes two minutes to hit greenery. This will mean that they will have regular outdoor access without any inconvenience to the day, although we do anticipate a few photos being snapped each time all eight go walking together!
You can see from Ama and Cleo’s vantage that we are close to the action but hopefully you can also spot they look a little higher than street level. This is because we will be located in an upper ground floor level premise. We really felt it was important we had a bit of space between us and the road for their safety and that extra staircase makes all the difference. Further to being a little further back from the road we will also have a double door system in place. This will require closing one door before opening the other so that, even when our girls are super excited about meeting you, they are always safe to be off the leash in comfort.
There are so many things involved in opening a new business so we will be very busy beavering away for the next couple of months. Before we can start fitting out our unit we need the council’s approval for the works we need to do and this can be a lengthy process. We’ve got a great team in place so hope to achieve everything needed as quickly as possible but at this stage cannot guarantee an exact opening date. We do hope to be in ahead of Christmas as we absolutely love getting excited about the festive season so please keep an eye on our website and social media for more updates!
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far. Whether you have attended a Pop Up, bought some of our exclusive merchandise, hired us for a private event, followed our journey on Facebook or Instagram, got in touch to let us know your thoughts, or simply sent some positive vibes our way we have really appreciated it. Our main vision is to bring people together, get folk talking and help everyone bring a little fun and happiness to their day so having been able to start this ahead of our grand opening has let us know you’re with us.

Posted at 16:57h, 19 JuneHello there,
I’ve just discovered that you are our new neighbours………. My brothers & I own the Coro premises but they live in the UK and I’m in France. I’ve got a Scottie but it’s great to hear that you have all these lovely chihuahuas. I believe there was a cat cafe somewhere but it didn’t work out – something to do with heath & safety. It’s not clear from your website but are you the lady or the gent in the photo? There are no names to refer to.
Hope it works out for you and will visit when I’m next back in Edinburgh.
